High scoring was the term of the day at Ft. Shafter this past weekend as the 9 Tap Tour Hawaii crowns another 1st time winner.  Ft. Shafter is usually our toughest lanes to score on but this weekend gave in to some very nice scoring.  Scores on the cash list came from a full range of averages, -3 to 54, with most of the cashers at mid range handicaps.  This weekends' tournament saw Daniel Toyooka-Lim and Ben Ballesteros put together 4 No Taps good for $75 apiece.  Our 9 Tap Jackpot is slowly increasing and stands at $7,642.00.

 

The Tour crowned another 1st time Champion in Kevin Asato.  The story behind Kevin was, "he had volunteered to help with a golf tournament and was not going to bowl.  In the meantime, his wife Keoho caught a ride to Ft. Shafter with Kevin and Chuchi Cruce, helping the Tour with keeping all the scoring.  She called Kevin and told him "get his okole-hao over to Shafter" (nah! she never say that), but that he needed to bowl because she had a "Good Feeling" about this tournament and how Kevin might do."  Well, Jody Loo and Mike Signaigo felt he should have stayed at the golf course! Kevin did make it to Ft. Shafter, bowled in the 3rd squad and in the 4th game of that squad, needing a score of 283, shot 298 and became the Tours' 3rd quarter Champion.  Congratulations, Kevin!!  Kevin thanks all of his supporters, Keoho; Kevin & Chuchi; Thomas Ching & Lauralynn; Auntie Debbie & Nani; and Lopaka Rose.  Kevin used his Storm Reign drilled by Keith Odette of WLE (Waipahu Lawn & Equipment).  He says "I didn't think I was going to finish strong in game 4", but did and won his 1st tournament!!!
